BIST100 Technical Outlook

Commentary:

The postponement of the lawsuit requesting the annulment of the CHP Congress to September 8 delayed political uncertainty in domestic markets and triggered a sharp rally in Borsa Istanbul. The index, which had already started the day on a positive note, further strengthened its gains throughout the day in line with incoming news. The BIST 100 index closed the day up 5.78% at 9,948 points. During the session, it tested a low of 9,450 and a high of 9,949 points. With strong intraday buying, the index broke above the 9,800 resistance level, which had not been surpassed since March 19.

Going forward, markets will focus on inflation data and potential interest rate cuts. In this context, the 10,100 – 10,160 point range stands out as the first resistance zone. If this level is surpassed, the next target range is 10,378 – 10,435. On the other hand, in the event of a pullback, we now consider the 9,800 – 9,850 region as a strong support.

In case of intraday declines, we will monitor the 9,850 – 9,800 – 9,740 levels. For upward moves, the resistance levels to watch are 10,050 – 10,100 – 10,160, respectively.
